HA I have to say....that when I read your take on it - so many more thoughts come in my head - and I totally agree with each point you've made! LOL Perhaps that's why I've not linked or shared the video on my own facebook wall...

I do like the fact that he's taking a stand and considering the temper I think he was restraining - I'm thinking this fell under 'should have thought before I acted'.

I'm sorry about Grace but I do understand the mixed feelings. I still really miss our old cat, Malory, who died a year ago but I do not miss the hair and litter box. We have outdoor cats which are allowed in the laundry room (with the raccoons) but I've resisted the urge to make one a house cat. And despite the fact that we've been dog-less for a year and really need one out here in the country, there's a part of me that doesn't miss the care of yet another animal. Same thing with the chickens which the raccoons ate. I miss the eggs but not the letting them in and out part.

So sorry about Grace! It's hard to lose a pet no matter how the circumstances are around it. I know how you feel about the care of pets, though. Although we cannot have pets where we currently live, I do not really look forward to the day we own a home and the kids want a dog or a cat. I got my first dog at 3, and she lived until I was 18. Got a second dog at 13, and she lived into my early adulthood, although she stayed with my mom. Pets die, and I do not like that. Plus the care for them. It's a lot of work. We do, however, have 3 hermit crabs. They are very low maintenance. lol

Aw, poor Gracie! However, banish those bad feelings of not properly caring for the big ol' hairball. You put up with her much longer than I ever would have. Check at the shelter, just to be sure. Keep the thought that some nice person managed to coax her in and she is being well cared for still. Just remember, vacation with no pet to deal with is a huge plus!
