The new guys

Standard

1964 was fabbity-fab Friday night. They have two new members. The old “Ringo” and “George” left for other bands. I had heard about this at AROTR but wasn’t sure when the change was going to take place, so I was mildly shocked when I quit staring at “John” long enough to realize there were two new guys. (I can’t help it; he has John’s mannerisms down pat and it fascinates me.)
I was a bit resentful at first of the new guys because, well, they aren’t the old guys. But they both started to grow on me as the concert progressed and now I think they will fit in just fine. I’m looking forward to seeing them again; hopefully in both July and October, to continue getting used to seeing them.
The show was the same as it has been the other times I’ve seen them this year, which helped. If they’d come out with two new guys plus the show all tweaked and rearranged it would have been too much for me to process. It went off without a hitch. The new “George” is a really good guitar player. He kicked butt on the solo in “And Your Bird Can Sing”.
All in all I’m most satisfied with their choice of new members! Can’t wait to see them again.

I'm a native Californian who lives in Oklahoma. I'm a full-time student, pursuing a Bachelors in Anthropology, following which I hope to attain a Masters in Archaeology. I have three kids, one husband, no pets, and a lot of friends - most of whom live inside my computer. I love to read, write, watch tv (shut up, we can't all be brain surgeons), shop, and travel. I'm trying to set foot in all 50 states before I die. I have 38, so far. I love the Beatles and Maroon 5, and if you think those two things are incongruous, well, they are. But that's me. When I love something, I love it 100%. I don't do anything halfway. I want to know everything there is to know, so I'm trying to cram as much into my brain as I can in the short amount of time I'm allotted in this dimension.
